How To Apply
APPLICATION DATA METHOD: Brush, Conventional Spray, Roller
NUMBER OF COATS: Variable
APPLICATION INFORMATION: Thin 5% with Special Thinner 216 if required. The addition of Flattening Agent YMA715 to a finish or varnish will not affect the drying or overcoating characteristics of the product. It will not affect the durability of the finished surface. As with all the types of reducedgloss coatings, the resulting finish will not have the same stay-clean properties as a full-gloss coating. If all the mixed (matted) material is not used it may be used at a later date. Simply stir well before use. The level of gloss will decrease where the amount of Flattening Agent YMA715 is increased. The opacity (ability to hide) of the chosen finish will be affected once the clear Flattening Agent YMA715 is added. For better hide apply the unflattened finish first and finish off with the mixed (flattened) material as a last coat, or apply the unflattened finish until opacity is achieved. Stir well before use. If all of the mixed material is not used it may be saved and used at a later date. Product temperature should be minimum 15°C/60°F and maximum 30°C/86°F. Ambient temperature should be minimum 5° C/41°F and maximum 35°C/95°F. Substrate temperature should be minimum 5°C/41°F and maximum 35°C/95°F.
Follow the surface preparation instructions shown on the label of the finish or varnish to which the Flattening Agent is being added. Mixing Details - Typical Gloss Reduction using Flattening Agent YMA715 Parts Finish or Varnish :

- Why Micron technology? Micron Technology is the basis of all Micron bottom paints and the formulations are second to none. Micron Technology was first introduced to the industry in the early 80's and has evolved into the class leading antifouling paints. - Longest lasting, multi-season ability to haul and re-launch without repainting - Controlled polishing like a bar of soap reduces paint build up, eliminating the need for sanding - Micron Technology polishes to a smoother surface than hard antifoulings - maximizing fuel savings - Unlike old fashion high copper bottom paints, Micron uses less copper more efficiently for longest lasting antifouling protection Micron Technology vs old fashioned hard antifoulingsAfter many years of using old fashioned hard high copper bottom paints, the paint film continues to build up, become brittle, and starts to crack and flake off. Micron Technology antifoulings polish at a controlled rate and therefore will never build up. It is this controlled polishing that enables Micron to be used on all boats, in all waters, and at all times! No paint build up means that you will never have to remove old layers of Micron and spend precious hours or money each time you want to repaint. Micron Technology and fuel savingsThere's another added benefit to controlled polishing: fuel savings! The roughness caused by old fashioned hard high copper bottom paints creates extra drag on boat bottoms requiring the use of more horsepower. With extra horsepower comes extra fuel consumption, extra fuel consumption means more money at the fuel pump. There is only one way to ensure that the bottom is smooth and that is to choose Micron Technology. Micron Technology antifouling polishes at a controlled rate leaving your bottom smooth - remember the smoother the bottom paint, the lower the resistance; the lower the surface resistance the better the fuel economy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Interlux Fiberglass Bottomkote NT Antifouling Bottom Paint
Interlux Fiberglass Bottomkote NT is a hybrid hard/ablative antifouling bottom paint that gives you the best of both worlds. Its dual-resin formula combines the durability of a hard coating with the self-polishing benefits of an ablative paint, so the film gradually smooths with use instead of building up heavy layers year after year. The result is a cleaner, more efficient hull and easier maintenance at haul-out.
Designed for both powerboats and sailboats, Bottomkote NT is an excellent choice for boats kept in fresh, salt, or brackish water. It delivers reliable, single-season fouling protection on fiberglass, wood, and properly primed metals hulls (not for aluminum) and can be burnished or scrubbed where extra smoothness is desired.
Available in red, green, blue, and black, it provides a classic antifouling look with modern hybrid performance.
Best Uses
Fiberglass powerboats and sailboats that are used regularly during the season
Boats kept in marinas or on a mooring in fresh, salt, and brackish water
Owners who want durable, scrubbable finish without excessive bottom paint build-up
DIYers looking for a fast-dry system that allows multiple coats and same-day launch in suitable conditions.
Key features & benefits
Hybrid hard/ablative technology - Combines hard-coat durability with a controlled polishing action to help prevent premature wear-through while still shedding light growth.
Smooth, efficient finish - As the surface slowly smooths with use, it helps reduce drag for better speed and fuel efficiency.
Fast-dry formula - Under normal conditions you can apply multiple coats and launch the same day, making it ideal for tight haul-out schedules.
Versatile application - Suitable for fiberglass, wood, and properly primed steel or lead underwater areas (not for aluminum hulls or outdrives).
Universal use - Works for most power and sailboats in fresh, salt, and brackish waters, making it a flexible choice for mixed cruising areas.
How to apply Interlux Fiberglass Bottomkote NT
Interlux Fiberglass Bottomkote NT can be applied with a brush, roller, or spray equipment over most existing antifouling paints that are in good, sound condition. Always make sure the old coating is firmly adhered, clean, and free of loose or flaking material before overcoating.
Substrates: Fiberglass, wood, and properly primed steel/lead underwater surfaces
Existing bottom paint: Check the Interlux antifouling compatibility chart to confirm suitability, then clean and sand as required
Coats: Apply at least two full coats; use an extra coat on bare wood or high-wear areas such as leading edges and the waterline
Thinning: Thin only if necessary, using the appropriate Interlux thinner, and do note exceed label recommendations
For best results, always stir or shake the paint thoroughly before and during use to keep the copper and resins evenly mixed.
Surface preparation overview
Proper prep is critical to long-term performance. Follow the detailed instructions on the product label and technical datasheet, but in general:
Previously painted surfaced - good condition

Interlux Pacifica Plus Antifouling Marine Paint with Biolux
Interlux Pacifica antifouling paint is specially designed to battle slime and contains Econea to help ward off barnacles, algae, and other underwater organisms. It is formulated with a dual biocide antifouling that uses Biolux Slime Blocking technology.
Interlux Pacifica is easy to apply with a roller or brush. The overall performance and protection provided by Interlux Pacifica are directly related to the amount of antifouling paint applied. A thin layer may lead to premature fouling. A thicker layer will protect your boat much longer. Interlux Pacifica is safe to use for both fresh and saltwater applications and is safe for all boats including aluminum, wood, fiberglass, and steel.
Interlux Pacifica uses Econea technology, which is a copper-replacement technology. It allows antifouling performance to work at very low concentrations. It is safer for use on aluminum, unlike its Copper Oxide counterparts. Once emitted from paint film, it breaks down quickly. It is formulated to protect against more severe organisms.
Features:
Copper-free bottom paint
Contains Econea™ to control shell growth and Biolux® Slime-Blocking technology
Clean, crisp, bright colors
High solids, reduced solvent emissions
Fast dry, low odor
Polishing action for improved fuel efficiencies, which equals reduced Carbon Dioxide and Sulfur Dioxide into the air

Interlux ACT Ablative Antifouling Bottom Paint
Interlux ACT is a trusted single-season ablative bottom paint that delivers excellent season-to-season protection in moderate to heavy fouling waters. Using Ablative Copolymer Technology, the coating slowly wears away with use, continually exposing fresh biocide at the surface. This controlled erosion helps prevent marine growth while eliminating the heavy paint build-up and aggressive sanding associated with many hard bottom paints.
With a higher copper content and a built-in Slime Fighter additive, ACT is very effective at controlling shell fouling such as barnacles and zebra mussels, as well as weed, slime and algae. It can be used on fiberglass, wood and properly primed metal hulls (not aluminum) in fresh, salt and brackish water, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of powerboats and sailboats.
Available in popular colors including black, blue, red, green and brown, ACT is a go-to ablative paint for boaters and boatyards looking for reliable performance and easier maintenance between haul-outs.
Best Uses
Single-season antifouling protection for powerboats and sailboats
Boats kept in moderate to heavy fouling waters (algae, slime, barnacles, zebra mussels)
Fresh, salt, and brackish water marinas and moorings
Owners who want an ablative coating that minimizes paint build-up and sanding at recoat time
Fiberglass, wood, and properly primed steel or lead hulls below the waterline (not suitable for aluminum)
Key Features & Benefits
Ablative Copolymer Technology: Coating wears away in a controlled manner during use, continuously exposing fresh biocide and helping prevent premature wear-through.
High copper content with Slime Fighter: Formulated to control hard growth such as barnacles and zebra mussels and soft growth like weed, slime and algae, keeping the hull cleaner for longer.
Reduced paint build-up: Because the film gradually erodes, there is less old paint to sand off at recoat time compared to many hard bottom paints.
Season-to-season protection: Provides dependable single-season protection when applied at the recommended film thickness and coverage.
All-water versatility: Can be used in fresh, salt, and brackish waters, ideal for boats that move between different environments.
Flexible application: Can be applied by brush, roller, or airless spray over most existing antifouling coatings that are in sound condition, following Interlux compatibility guidance.
Application & System Overview
Interlux ACT can be applied over most well-adhered antifouling paints or as part of an Interlux system over properly prepared bare substrates. Always read the product label and technical datasheet before starting your bottom paint project.
Substrates: Fiberglass, wood, and properly primed steel or lead below the waterline (not for aluminum hulls or drives).
Existing antifouling: Confirm compatibility using the Interlux antifouling compatibility chart. The existing coating must be aged, firmly adhered, and in good condition.
Coats: Apply a minimum of two full coats, with an extra stripe coat on high-wear areas such as the waterline, chines, leading edges and rudders. Three coats are recommended on bare wood.
Methods: Apply by brush, 3/8" nap solvent-resistant roller, or airless spray using equipment suitable for solvent-based marine coatings.
Stir or shake ACT thoroughly before and during application to keep the copper and resins evenly mixed. Thin only if necessary, and never more than the maximum amount specified on the label.
Surface Preparation Overview
Proper surface preparation is critical to adhesion and antifouling performance. The summary below should be used in conjunction with the full Interlux instructions.
Previously painted surfaces – good condition
Scrub the bottom to remove slime, salts and loose growth, then rinse and allow to dry.
Sand the existing coating with 80-grit wet-or-dry paper as recommended to create …
