How to Install a Megaware FlexStep Pro
The Megaware FlexStep Pro comes with included hardware designed for mounting to any boat trailer with frames up to 3" deep. If your trailer frame is larger, you will need to purchase longer bolts separately.
Place the base mount on the trailer frame in the location of your choice.
Take the four bolts and place them through the mounting plate and align with trailer frame.
Protective sleeves are provided to sheath the bolts to prevent trailer scratches.
Place the backing plate on the back or rear side of the trailer frame and align the four bolts through the corresponding holes.
Apply a washer over the end of the bolt and attach the nylon lock nut.
Secure evenly with firm pressure. Do not over tighten.

How to Install Megaware SkegPro Skeg Protector
If needed, repair skeg to ensure proper fit before installing SkegPro.
To enhance appearance, prime and paint skeg before installing the SkegPro.
Using a leather, rubber, or wooden mallet, place the SkegPro on the skeg and gently tap on it to get it started.
Drive it on with the mallet until fully seated.
Using the pre-drilled mounting hole as a pilot hole, drill the skeg using a 3/16" drill bit.
Install the stainless steel hardware.

Installation Instructions:
- It is recommended that the adhesive is not applied when temperatures are below 65 degrees F or above 100 degrees F. Remember that even if the air temperature is above 65 degrees F, the aluminum surface on your pontoon may be lower.
- Wash - Thoroughly wash your pontoon to remove any algae or oxidization. Remove any waxes or metal protectants as per manufacturer recommendations. Clean the area where the PontoonGuard will be installed with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.
- Measure - Measure the length of the pontoon tube. If the PontoonGuard is too long, trim the PontoonGuard with a utility knife on the rear squared edge for a precise fit. Measure down from the top deck to the find the center of your pontoon. Once you have found the center, measure up 1.75" and make a mark using a pencil. This is where the top of the PontoonGuard will be installed. Measure down from the center 1.75" to mark the bottom of the guard. Continue to measure and mark every 18-24" down the length of the tube.
- Mask - Align a strip fo masking tape along the top marks and continue down the entire length of the pontoon. Repeat using the lower marks. Verify that the spacing between the masking tape is 3.5 inches and that the alignment is straight.
- Etch - Using the provided 3M Scotch-Brite Pad, thoroughly etch the entire length of the pontoon within the masked area.
- Clean - Thoroughly clean the area again with isopropyl alcohol, using paper towels or a clean rag. Repeat until the rag or paper towel show no signs of residue. Note: Do not use paint thinner or other petroleum based cleaners as they can leave a film that will compromise the bond of the 3M adhesive.
- Apply - Pull back 8-10" of each of the 3 red protective liners from the front of the guard. Do not touch the adhesive with your hands, as any contamination may compromise the bond. Carefully align the PontoonGuard with the masking tape and press it firmly in place using your hand or the supplied burnishing tool. NOTE: Once the adhesive touches the surface it will become a permanent bond and will not release without tearing the adhesive)Continue to align the PontoonGuard until the entire guard is installed. Skeg Guard Installation Instructions:
- Secured with self-locking hardware, installation takes less than 10 minutes. If your skeg is already broken, Megaware's SkegGuard can be installed with as little as 2 inches of skeg remaining.
Using a mallet (leather, rubber, or wooden), place the Megaware SkegGuard on the skeg and gently tap on it. Once in place, drive it on with the mallet until fully seated.
Using the two pre-drilled mounting holes in the SkegGuard as pilot holes, drill the skeg using a 1/4" drill bit.
Install the stainless steel hardware using the hex-key tools supplied with the product.

How to Install a Boat Keel Guard
The Megaware KeelGuard is a very simple product to install; however, the following instructions must be strictly followed. Any short cuts or missed steps will jeopardize and compromise the full bonding capabilities of the 3M adhesive. For best results, the KeelGuard should be installed at an ambient temperature of 60º or above. Typically, the Megaware KeelGuard is mounted 4 to 6 inches above the waterline on the bow, ending 2 to 3 feet or more beyond the lowest point of the Keel. If protection is required above the Boweye, a separate Bow Guard is available in 1ft to 3ft lengths.
Etch the surface where the Keel Guard will be installed.
Any fiberglass mold release agents and wax must be removed.
Use the included 3M Scotch-Brite pad.
If your boat has antifouling bottom paint applied, it must be removed to expose the original gelcoat where the Keel Guard will be installed.
Thoroughly clean the area with isopropyl alcohol.
Use paper towels or a clean rag.
Repeat until there is no sign of residue.
Do not use paint thinner or other patroleum-based cleaners.
Prime with the included 3M #94 Keel Primer
Apply a very thin coat of the included primer.
Follow the instructions attached to the applicator.
Ensure the entire area is primed, especially the edges.
Apply your Keel Guard
Pull back the center liner approximately 8-10 inches exposing the 3M adhesive.
Do not touch the adhesive with your hands.
Center the Keel Guard along the keel and press it firmly in place using your hand or supplied burnishing tool.
Continue to align the Keel Guard and peel back the center strip until the entire center is attached to the boat.
Starting at the bow, pull back the protective liner on either side of the Keel Guard.
Begin pressing it on with the burnishing tool.
Work from the center out to ensure no air is trapped between the hull and adhesive.
Continue working toward the rear until completed.
Repeat the process for the other side.
Once fully attached, use the burnishing tool to apply additional pressure to the entire Keel Guard, ensuring it is firmly attached to your boat. A rubber mallet may also be used to apply even more force to the adhesive. No curing time is required.
