- Q: Do I need Toon-brite, Fiberglass Cleaner Or simply a boat soap or wash?
A: Toon-brite, Fiberglass Cleaner is a heavy-duty cleaner for tough jobs. Rule of thumb is, If boats are left in water, we are the cleaner of choice; if boats are not left in water, most likely all you need is a boat soap or wash.
- Q: How do I apply Fiberglass Cleaner?
A: We recommend using a pressure washer and or garden hose to remove the big stuff. Clean just after removing boat from water or before build up dries. This will also save you cleaner cost, as you won’t need as much. Now you’re ready to apply Fiberglass Cleaner.
A: Apply using supplied trigger sprayer, Adjust nozzle down to a fine mist. Using a Plastic garden sprayer will be much easier but also adjust nozzle to a fine mist. Start at bottom and work your way up applying evenly as you go. If streaking occurs, reapply in that area. Let stand for up to 5 minutes and rinse.

Toon-Brite Aluminum Cleaner is ready to go for heavy cleaning (boats that are left in water). If your boat only requires a light cleaning, dilute 50/50 or more.
Ensure that the surface is clean and dry before applying Toon-Brite Clear Coat.
After applying your Toon-Brite Aluminum Cleaner, allow it to stand for 1-5 minutes before rinsing. Don't allow to dry.

A: No, As a matter of fact, no acid based aluminum cleaner, no matter what brand, will put a “shine” back on old aluminum.
- Q: What kind of finish will Aluminum Cleaner leave?
A: That depends on how strong you mix it. When mixed at a weaker ratio, about 3-5 to 1 it will remove slight stains and oxidation leaving a fairly shiny finish assuming that the original mill finish still exists. But when mixed at a strong ratio, about 1 to 1, Aluminum Cleaner will bleach aluminum to a uniform off white finish.
- Q: What if I don’t want the “Off White” look on my aluminum?
A: You can use Toon-brite Metal Polish & Restorer and bring your aluminum to a Show-room look And or apply Clear-coat for real nice finish.

Remove boat from water, and allow deposits and stains to dry thoroughly.
Stains and deposits found above the water line may be removed while boat is in water.
Apply product to the dry surface of hull using an all-plastic sprayer, non-nylon roller or brush.
Keep deposits and stains wet and foaming with the product.
Reapply as needed to maintain foaming action.
After 10 minutes of foaming action, most surfaces should be clean and ready for rinsing.

Wash boat to remove surface dirt and dry thoroughly.

Apply to small sections at a time to ensure uniform coverage.
Note: No hard rubbing is required on most surfaces. Severely oxidized surfaces may require more rubbing.
